Yesterday the sun was out and the yard was calling for help. The bench has been in the yard for at least 20 years, and suddenly I thought looked forlorn by itself. My solution was to add a pot with daisies, geraniums and some other little white flowers that I can't remember the name of at the moment. The exciting part is the pedestal the pot sits on. My husband rescued this stump from my new neighbors' yard after they cut down what every one referred to as the eyeball tree in their front yard. The imperfections of the tree made it special, with large bulbous growths up and down the trunk, a former owner of the property had drilled holes and inserted marbles that made it look as if it was watching you as you walked by. It's been reduced to a stump but serves as a reminder of times past.
